Grunge Look- inspired by Scarlett Johansson

I came across this look on Scarlett the other day when I was on Pinterest, and loved it and wanted to try it out on myself. I thought it was very subtle, but still very dramatic. Below is a look at how it came out on me.

This look was actually really easy to do, the only issue I had was completely changing my skin tone to get that pale washed out look like she has, since I got a tan at the beach that was pretty hard, but I managed. For this look I used 2 different shades of brown one dark and one a little bit lighter. I took the lighter brown and pretty much made a cut crease right in the center of the eye lid to form that shadowy deep set eye look that scarlett has in this look. I took the darker shade of brown and blended it at the wing. After doing that a swept a very light whitish tan color across the lid to give it that highlight like she has as well. Underneath it was a bit tricky especially right in the tear duct. I took a liquid liner on the top and then used a cream liner on the bottom and let it come to a point on the inner corners of my eye like Scarlett, kind of giving it a reverse cat eye. Then at the bottom of my lids i smugged out the cream eyeliner along with a dark gray eye shadow, also bringing that gently into the inner corners of my eyes as well.

Face-For the face I highlighted and contoured my cheeks a little more than usual. I wanted my cheek bones and jaw bones to really stand out. I took a dark brown bronze and a brown eyeshadow and blended that in really well on my cheek bones and added a highlight underneath.

Brows-I went with a very intense eyebrow, a bit more than she had I really have a thing for thick, dark contoured brows these days. I just filled them in with a brown pencil and shadow.

Lips-I started with a dark color, but it was a little bit too dark for my skin tone so.. I ditched that and went a little bit lighter for the look. You can do whatever you feel comfortable with though!

Hope you guys enjoy this look! More to come!

Twiggy/Edie Sedgwick Inspired Photoshoot.

This was a look I did on my most recent photo shoot. I had been wanting to do a twiggy/edie sedgwick photo shoot for so long... I had so much fun on this photo shoot.I was able to collaborate with a local photographer here in Baltimore who does incredible work. It was so incredibly hot this day my make up was melting off but these photos ended up being beautiful. To get this look I had to follow a photo on pinterest for reference.
I was going for something like this but I gave it my own twist. This look was a little tricky because it is a cut crease and its hard not to have the black and white blend together. In the crease for the black I used a gel liner and concealed it with a jet black eye shadow to prevent printing. (Yes for this look there is little to no blending.. for a first)I used a very dark dramatic liquid liner on the lids and a matte white shadow for my base, and added some falsies!:) I really loved this vintage Mod 1960 look. It was so much fun!!!

Makeup Monday- Smokey teal and brown eye.

I am not naked I swear...

I decided every Monday I will post a different look... today I wanted to do something simple and summery. I have been using a lot of browns and golds lately and I wanted to use that but also add some color.... As you can see I colored my hair and got a sweet ass tan. I thought these color choices really made that pop. I chose a light pink lip to bring out my golden glow. Thank you North Carolina sun for being so good to me. I am really trying to broaden my horizons and take some risks with my makeup these days. This look was really easy to achieve.... I have not been using fake lashes lately I have let my natural ones grow back in and they are finally starting to look decent. Make sure when doing this look to focus on your blending... brown and blue are tricky together, because sometimes it makes a nasty green color, so I added some black in there as well to break that up.. I also did some contouring to my face, usually I use a dark brown eye shadow and bronzer on my cheeks to accomplish that. For my highlight I used a shade lighter than my skin tone. I applied it on my chin, below my brows,on the center of my nose, between the brows and under my eyes, and below my cheek bones.Remember everywhere you have a shadow you must have a highlight, or you will look funky. Hope you all like this look.... if anyone reads this blog.. thanks for checking it out! Below I posted the products used.
